Australian bishops are currently in the news. In the case of Western Sydney this week, for the wrong reasons. Very nearly tragic news, for Assyrian Orthodox Christian Bishop Mar Mai Emmanuel. The good Bishop, whose words have been helpfully described by
Ukraine and Israel, both independent,sovereign nations fighting for their survival against imperialist and Islamist foes respectively. They need and deserve our honest and effective support.
Not the pathetic shilly shallying of our political class. Not the shrill screaming of our home grown supporters of tyrants, not the silly meanderings of spurious claimants for foresight and expert knowledge.
