Once again I’m amazed at how well you (Paul C) translate my very own sentiments into plain and cutting-to-the-core language. Thanks

Stupidity is probably too all-encompassing and vague a term to describe the Panic Virus response no matter what intellectual pretensions and fancy ideologies the sufferers claim.

I will plump for plain old gutless fear. Quite amazing how many spineless creatures are running around the burbs.

That doesn't bode well for when a real crisis strikes. That is only a matter of time.

The freedom loving Left of the 60’s has morphed in exactly the same way the Labor Party of the working man is now the party of the woke, control loving lemmings.

Truly astonishing how so few people pushed back against the insanity and hysteria. The very principles of Western democracy were trampled on and run roughshod over by politicians and public health officials based on nothing more than their whims. The antithesis of a representative democrat and no one (of any stature or with a prominent platform) made a peep.

I, too, read Tucker’s piece about the end of gurus and was unpleasantly surprised by the admission he made concerning the two economists he once held in such high esteem. Not even professed, practicing libertarians could be counted on in hysteria that gripped the world these last three years to advocate for personal autonomy and choice--how peculiar. (BTW, I consider Tucker and the Brownstone Institute to be essential reading.)

In a way I’m heartened by the reality of even Libertarians succumbing to the hysteria and propaganda of the last three years--it’s an indication that one should be very careful in looking for heroes, and take one’s instincts very seriously no matter how many people are losing their minds and screaming at you to lose your’s. The truth does not need defending.

Don't forget to make a dishonorable mention of Christopher Snowdon, who came out in favor of the UK's third lockdown despite opposing the first two.
