Simply Incredible

The current American election cycle is simply incredible.  And not in a good way.

Remembering that Kamala Harris is actually part of the current administration supposedly running the country – I think most Americans have given up trying to figure out exactly who is in charge – the first of two telling comments on her governance notes that while Tehran is being lit up with Israeli missile strikes, Joe Biden is on vacation (again, still?) and Kamala Harris is conducting rallies with Beyonce and Bruce Springsteen concerts.

Yes, this is real.  Is anyone actually running the country?  Has anyone noticed that no one is?  There is another quote, from Paul Joseph Watson, on the “quality” of the Harris campaign:

There you go.  This is an accurate reflection of things as they stand.  The actual pitch of the candidate for the presidency.  Truly unbelievable.

She has no cards to play, it seems.  No policies.  No answer to the question – why have you not done these things (that you say need to be done and that you have promised to do) already?  No record, other than disasters like open borders, mass immigration, fiscal incontinence, economic collapse, voter rigging and forever wars.  No coherent vision.  No interviews, other than those rigged, edited, teleprompted but still disastrous.  The last is quite the achievement.

Both these commentaries are telling analyses on the (in)capacity of exceptional America to be true to its Constitutional roots.  What would Maddison, Washington, Jefferson, Adams, Franklin, Hamilton and the other Founding Fathers make of all this?  The phrase “spinning in their graves” comes readily to mind.

The opinion polls are a bit confusing.  It is hard to believe that Harris, who makes Dan Quayle look like Churchill, Reagan and Thatcher combined, is even close in the places she needs to be.  There are two points on this.  One, given that no event in politics these days can be accepted as true, the polls might be, as Joe Rogan believes, pure bullshit.  And two, does it matter anyway, given the stark reality of the “steal margin”.

If the American justice system is a toilet – short story, it is – what can you say about the electoral system?  It makes Third World banana republics look like beacons of representative democracy.  We have the following:

·         Keir Starmer, who, it might be thought, had enough of his own domestic problems – like the collapse of his country on his watch – to keep him occupied, is sending cadres of leftist goons to American swing states to help turn voters against Trump;

·         A half Kenyan black half Kansan white man telling young black voters not to be sexist;

·         Billionaires trying to keep a sex abuse “list” away from revelation and using the election to achieve this;

·         Totally weird endorsement politics (though no one has asked P Diddy for an endorsement);

·         Free concerts at political rallies;

·         Non-campaigning as a thing (yes, I know, Biden did it 2020);

·         Weird people calling normal people “weird”;

·         Memory-holing becoming a standard election strategy;

·         Hillary Clinton’s claims that Trump rallies are replicating Hitler in Nuremberg;

·         The Harris-Dick Cheney ticket, and Democrats cheering this on;

·         The Democrat candidate who didn’t have to face a primary process, the first time this has happened ever in an election campaign stateside;

·         The normalistion of assassination attempts, in the blink of an eye;

·         The early voting and mad mail-in ballots are out of anyone’s control;

·         The likelihood of one candidate ending up in prison if his opponent were to win the election.

This is all very post-modern, of course.  Weird, anti-democratic. Driven by evil men and women.  It is what we now face.  And a system that most seem to accept, nonchalantly.

The fact that the Democratic machine, having delivered a palace coup against the forever vacationing Beijing Joe, could confidently pick an utter dud in Kamala Harris to carry the flag says two things.  One, they think that literally anyone could deliver them victory, with all of the rigging, cheating, media lies, narrative construction and the rest.  Kamala will do!  Two, they are confirming that it doesn’t really matter who they put forward.  That person won’t be calling the shots anyway.

It all makes the fictional Frank Underwood (Kevin Spacey) of House of Cards fame look like a mild version of political reality.  Wag the Dog electioneering has become the norm.

The British version of House of Cards had the original FU having people killed. Oh, wait a minute, the US election has had this already.  The deeps state isn’t doing anything now other than hiding in plain sight.

If anyone still thinks that elections are a process for determining the intentions of voters and for candidates to propose and defend policies, then he should think again.  As I have said before, the political science books will all have to be re-written, afresh, after this.

The late Robert Palmer once had a hit song, Simply Irresistible.  This election is simply unbelievable.  Without the sexy dancers.  We are watching it all in slow motion and real time.  It is a train wreck.

Oh, just as an afterthought, all the objective evidence suggests that we are on the verge of WW3.  Right about now.  Real Time News reports:

We have also North Korean troops supporting Russia in Ukraine.  We have the lunatics who rule Britain running the Ukraine operation.  We have a militarily weakened Europe.  We have endless US credit to Zelensky.  Aussie tanks in the mix.  Israeli missile hits in a lit-up Tehran night sky.

And almost no one in America’s political class, outside Donald Trump’s back-up team of Tulsi Gabbard and the rest, seems even to have noticed.  The Biden administration is on vacation.  And these people think that Trump is a risk!

Of course, the Harris-Cheney idiot alliance might not even mind this.  Of course.  War is what they want.  Their backers insist on it. 

Another film, directed by Stanley Kubrick, called Dr Strangelove, has explored the theme of lunatic, gung-ho foreign policy in the nuclear age.  As I say, you couldn’t make this up.  The President is on vacation, somewhere.  The Democrat candidate is channeling Beyonce.  And endlessly cackling.  We have The Goon Show, here.  We know the goons are in charge.  We just aren’t quite sure which goons.

There is a book by Christopher Clark called Sleepwalkers: How Europe Went to War in 1914, that seems, now, strangely and chillingly relevant.

Donald Trump, with a back-up team of Gabbard, RFK Jr, J D Vance, Elon Musk, Ben Carson and Tucker Carlson, would seem to be the least of our problems.
